Here%27s some chap who think%27s he%27s %27it%27 (i.e. wears a suit, holds a
briefcase in one hand, the FT in the other, and has an MBA) on the
British
economy:

"The slowdown in consumer spending is partially a result of a fall in
borrowing."

Anyone spot the fallacy? (other than judgement... the MBA reference)

how could a fall in borrowing lead to a slowdown in spending? the less you borrow without paying someone according to his output should lead to a slope in our consumption curve
